Nights like this are the worst. The second I rest my head it feels like I laid it down onto a bed of thorns. Every inch of my body aches and I’m overwhelmed by nausea. All sounds become deafening white noise. The pictures on the television screen blur. Nothing assuages my head aside from sleep which it will not allow. Agony will eventually give way to numbness, and I will gain some peace. I can only hope tomorrow night will not bear the same fate.

Glow in the Dark Cave
Photographer Joseph Michael’s project titled Luminosity reveals the beauty of a species of glow-worm endemic to New Zealand’s North Island. Captured with a Nikon D810 and a long-exposure method, Michael was able to photograph the limestone cave’s beauty. The results are viewed as a majestic, neon starry night indoors.
